two weeks for Christmas Break (tuition will be prorated for the month of December)
Other Closings -
In the event that weather becomes too severe or road conditions become dangerous, we will close the school for that day.
In the event of an out break within the classroom, we will close for the following day to allow Ms. Brook to throughly disinfect the classroom to ensure the safety of everyone.
Linked below is our school calendar for the 2022-2023 school year:
TUITION IS
$395 - four days
$315 - three days
$235 - two days
Payment must be paid in full, including Holiday closings (unless stated otherwise).
If, for any reason, a student needs to be withdrawn from the schoolhouse, a 14 day notice must be given. If it is not given, you will be required to pay for those 14 days or you will be sent to collections.
We do not provide lunches or nap mats. Those must be brought by the student each day. Nap mats can be stored at the schoolhouse if you choose.
Pick-up and Drop-off:
Each parent will fill out a form naming adults that have permission to pick the child up from school. If the name of the person is not listed, the child will not be released to them. If an emergency occurs and an adult that is not on the list must pick up the child, a parent or guardian must call the school in advance to convey that information.
Our classroom hours will be 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. We encourage each child to be dropped off by 9:30 AM the latest, to ensure they can experience and enjoy all of our educational opportunities for the day.
No child will be allowed to enter the schoolhouse before 8:55 AM. Doors will remain locked until then. All children must be picked up at 2:00 PM. If a child is picked up later than 2:10 PM, a late fee of $5 will be applied each minute the child remains in care. The child will not be allowed to return to school until the late fees are paid in full.
If your child is unable to attend school, please call or text the school and inform us of this absence. If a child does not show, I will reach out to the parent regarding the absence for the safety of the child.
Please do not bring your child to school with any of the following symptoms:
Fever / Runny Nose / Cough / Vomiting / Diarrhea / Unknown Rash / Eye Discharge / Illness Being Treated With Antibiotics For Less Than 24 Hours.
If a child is brought to school with any of the following symptoms, they will be asked to return home with you or a call will be made for a parent to come pickup the child and keep them at home until symptoms are no longer present.
6. If a child needs to take medication during schoolhouse hours, a doctor’s note must be sent to school with the medication. It will be kept far out of reach of all children at all times.
7. The Castaneda School House was created just for YOU and YOUR little one. With that being said, your child’s safety is one of our greatest concerns throughout the entire school day. But we also realize that accidents do happen. If a situation were to occur, the Castaneda School House will not be held responsible for the child’s injuries.
8. If an injury occurs during schoolhouse hours, an injury report will be filled out and a parent will be contacted immediately!
9. Field trips are so fun and we would love to include a few throughout each year! To do so, we will need at least two volunteers each trip to assist in supervising and transporting children safely. Each parent will sign a consistent form for transportation before each field trip as well as being required to leave a carseat for each child. No child will be allowed to travel without a carseat.
10. We never ever want to be put into a position where we feel the need to expel a student, but we also take our classroom and the safety and security of everyone in it very seriously. Our list for expulsion is very small, yet very significant to the success of this little schoolhouse.
If you become two months behind in tution or you have not paid your late fees within two weeks.
If your child is threatening the safety of any classmate or teacher
If your child is intentionally causing harm to any or all property of the schoolhouse.
If any of these listed above are occuring, we must expel your student from The Castaneda School House.
11. Lastly, monthly rates may be raised periodically. Heightened costs of supplies or added services may be reasons to raise tuition. I will reevaluate our services every May. If the need were to occur, I would notify all parents at least 8 weeks in advance.
I know this is so much information to digest in one setting. I will do my very best to communicate as effectively as possible all throughout the school year. I will be easily accessible by text or phone call if you ever have any questions at all. Remember, all questions are wonderful questions, even for parents.
I am so happy to welcome you to The Castaneda School House.
